This is the day my parents got into town. My very talented seamstress mom made E2 a custom Jedi robe for him to play in. It is just perfect, with the wide sleeves and deep hood. His face when he opened it was just priceless, and wouldn’t you know it that photo didn’t turn out well at all.
I’ve gotten my pictures taken every day, but haven’t gotten them posted. I can’t get too behind, because if I do I’ll never get caught up. Since I’m also trying to get laundry caught up (seriously, can even 6 people go through this many clothes in 2 days?), maybe I’ll be able to get the next 2 posted too.

There’s just something about baby feet. They are just so precious. E1 and E4 had tiny, narrow feet, although by about 2 weeks old, E4’s had grown about half an inch. E2 and E3 had lonnggg feet. It funny how even feet can be so individual between siblings, and that as a mom I can remember them all.

My parents are on their way for a visit, yay! As I was working to try and get the clutter corralled, because, you know, my mom is coming, I found several sets of keys that weren’t where they were supposed to be. I was starting to get somewhat frustrated with things out everywhere, when I decided I needed to do instead was realize that we were just so blessed that I was having to worry about where exactly to put things. So this picture was to remind me of that.

This is one of E4’s favorite toys right now. It’s a little big and heavy for her to really do much with it, but she’ll watch it intently and jabber at it when she’s on the floor. It’s also a great toy for the older ones to use to play with her, and they do. E2 especially likes to figure out tunes that he knows in order to entertain her.

E4 was sitting up against the back of the recliner as that was about the easiest way for her to breathe, but by the time I got the camera and got her siblings to get out of the way she’d scrunched down against the arm. That was okay, she was still up for a pic or two.

I had absolutely no inspiration today, zero, zilch. I haven’t slept well all week, as E3 started the week with a cold, and E4 followed a couple of days later. It’s starting to really catch up with me, and I have entered the “do what you need to survive” mode.
I think we’re on the upswing with the colds, but E4 still doesn’t sleep well lying (or is it laying? I can’t remember right now) down, and she just finished 2+ hours straight nursing. I definitely think that’s a good sign, and I’m hopeful that tomorrow will be even better.

It was work with Dad night, (I talked about that in this post if you missed it) and it was a gorgeous clear night. Next time I’ll have to take my tripod, so I’m not dependent on finding a flat spot to set the camera in the direction I want to photograph.
Instead of a book, tonight we listened to Boomerang, an audiomagazine for kids. I downloaded a back issue, to see if it was something we will want to subscribe to. We really enjoyed the stories and jokes, I just haven’t decided if I want this instead of a traditional paper magazine.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed the links I post in the sidebar, but I wanted to comment on today’s. Amazon Swim is about Martin Strel, who today started in Atalaya, Peru, to swim 5400 km down the Amazon to the Atlantic Ocean. The kids and I are tracking his journey with the Triptracker map and photos they are updating daily, and we’ll be able to watch by webcam once he reaches Brazil.

This is the pet tornado E1 got in her Christmas stocking. When I saw it in one of my favorite homeschool catalogs, Rainbow Resource, I thought it was a cute idea. It is kind of cool to hold a tornado in the palm of your hand.

We really like games around our house, in case you haven’t noticed. 🙂 Last night K taught the older 2 kids the game of Risk. It is his favorite game, and not mine so much, so he’s excited they are old enough to really play and understand the intricacies of the game.
